Umm Do you feel the same? We are growing in a good way here..and our daily posts rising..i feel great for this..maybe time come to open a few more sections? or subcategories?
well as you can imagine me and my friends also newbies on forum..noone opened a forum before..
at the beginning 2 things was in our minds, discussions, and sharing..and i am happy to see we reach that goal..however in a soon time everything may become complex..cuz we are growing and the counts of daily posts rising..
So please tell in here; if you have something in your minds to add new sections/subcategories or change the way of sections etc..

it may be better to think here for ex: to spare some good 10-15 minutes a day after work.

(and i have a tiny request from you all; i know even myself sometimes forget to hide links..this is a security reason..forums are always no:1 blacklist of uploading services..
for example if you click http://rapidshare.com/jasdh/kingcrimson.html   rapidshare knows where this link clicked from (from pnf forum) and they have the instrument to delete all the links at once for the links coming from http://forum.prognotfrog.com.. so please hide the links with this way:  http://rapid.... ---> h!!p://...
by this way you need to copy paste the link to the browser and fix the h!!p to http

another thing is if we use variety in upload services..we dont need to wait for 1-2 hours to download them..sometimes i find a lot of beautiful posts at one day..and waiting rapidshare is really painful..if we use different upload services..i am sure we enjoy here more)

Just a hint for rapidshare download users. If you do not want to wait an hour and half to download second or another file, just disconnect from internet and connect again after few moments. This way you only have to wait for a minute or so...

That is a good method if you are a DSL user and you have a dynamic IP.

hi

first of all, nahavanda i think it is very nice of you asking for ideas. and here are some of mine:

i think sharing & discussing can be handled under a single category named "music", sharing is just a few lines of links, not much at all.. and as I observe, people tend to discuss music under a share thread. my suggestion makes "music discussion" category somewhat redundant. a possible problem is: will it mess things up if i write a new thread to discuss something without uploading it? the answer is probably yes, another friend would like to see the links if he/she is reading that sharing category. my idea is this problem can be solved by marking the threads which have shared links in it. by marking i mean using a different thread icon or something like that. i do not know if the forum engine places content-based marks though..

this would be cool.. (sorry for crappy editing:) they are supposed to be just like the "new" indicator)

my second opinion is, sharing category (rock, jazz, etc..) needs subcategories of "90s, 80s, 70s, 60s and before" each. that would make them more comprehensible. those dates can be discussed also, categorization according to eras rather than 10year periods is very possible. however it leads to a debate about what the eras are Smiley currently it may sound too deep categorization but as the post count increases things can go out of hand.

finally, there are unnecessary one-word posts like "thanks, i agree, cool, yep, nope, gak guk..." and they make a thread look messy. however, i also think people should be able to express just feelings, and "i agree" & "i dont agree" buttons under posts would do good. if someone has further things to say, he/she does not belong to this one-word category in the first place. But again, i am not sure of this forum engines abilities on this one. i think it has the feature.

anyways, these are my humble little opinions to make this place more enjoyable. but i must also say that things as they are now are already quite entertaining Smiley

cheers
