Hello everyone. Does anyone know tell me if there are festivals of folk rock near Italy this summer? I particularly enjoy the acid folk. Countries that interest me are: Italy, Austria, Switzerland, France, Czech Republic The groups and artists I love most are: Comus, Fairport Convention, Pentangle, Trees, Dr. Strangely Strange, Linda Perhacs (fantastic!), Judy Dyble . Thanks for any attention.

Hi digitoergosum   Cheesy

I love these band and artists too.
In the little and very nice city of Isola del Liri (Frosinone, Lazio) every summer they organized a Festival, sometimes called "Liri Blues" or "Liri Folk", that come up with five or more days of shows and artists. The bands or artists, one at day, are very various and ranging from blues (generally in prevalence) to folk, rock and jazz rock. Take an eye at the program when July come. Who knows?

You lost great occasion in 2003 with the presence of Fairport Convention (with singer Jacquee McShee of Pentangle) and Albion Band. In 2005 or 06 was there also a myth like Jorma Kaukonen of Jefferson Airplane.     Angry

If you hope to see live great band like Comus, Trees, Dr. Strangely Strange, Linda Perhacs and Trader Horne will be necessary a time-machine. I know that the famous Isle of Wight Festival continues again now. In summer '90 great glories like Audience, Trees, Janus and Clear Blue Sky were there. Also the beautiful folk band Shide & Acorn is exactly originary from Wight. I think is again possible to see something very good with nostalgic magic atmospheres of the glorious times. Try to find info on Wight or eventually on German festivals. Deutsch folk of 70s was also something magic.

Bye and cheers
